- Stopping after sign-up. Creating the account earns nothing on its own. You also need one qualifying transaction.
- Letting the miles expire. Referral miles are valid for six months from the day they are credited.

Kris+’s referral terms list the transactions that complete a referral. Any one of these counts:

- A top-up of at least 450 KrisPay miles in one go by transferring KrisFlyer miles to your KrisPay wallet.

For most people, the SGD 5 payment is the easiest. Buy a coffee or a meal at a partner outlet and pay through the app.

Open Wallet in the app and check the transaction history. Kris+’s terms say the 500 KrisPay miles are credited to your account when the referral is completed.

Miles you earn by spending at Kris+ partners can usually be moved to KrisFlyer. The 500 referral miles cannot. They are for spending inside Kris+.
Is the Kris+ Referral Worth It? Three Realistic Examples
The office coffee run. You buy a SGD 6 coffee at a partner café every morning. You sign up with the code, pay for one coffee through Kris+, and the 500 miles cover most of a coffee later that week.
The miles collector. You hoped to add 500 miles to a KrisFlyer award. The referral miles cannot be transferred, so they are worth SGD 5 in the app, not 500 KrisFlyer miles. Still worth taking, but adjust your expectations.
The one-off downloader. You sign up, collect the miles and forget the app. Six months later the miles expire unused. If you will not visit a partner in that time, the reward is worth nothing.
The referral does not change how Kris+ works. If you eat or shop at its partners, it is free money. If you do not, skip it.
What the Referral Code Cannot Do
It cannot be added later. The referral has to be attached when your Kris+ account is created.
It cannot be moved to KrisFlyer. Referral miles stay in the Kris+ app and cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for cash.

October 2026: What You Can Stack After Signing Up
Kris+ ran its sixth-birthday promotions from 1 to 31 October 2026. They are separate from the referral reward, and new users can join them too:

- Birthday Gift Box: one box a day, with a prize of up to 1,000 KrisPay miles or a partner voucher.
Each promotion has its own terms in the app. Check what is running when you sign up, because Kris+ changes its promotions every month.

Use the link. It carries the code into sign-up, so you do not have to type it.
Make the SGD 5 payment the first thing you do. Buy something small at a partner the same day you sign up, so the referral completes straight away.
Pay with a rewards card. Pay through Apple Pay or Google Pay with a credit card that earns its own miles or cashback on top.
Spend the miles quickly. Six months is long enough, as long as you do not forget about them.

What If You Already Have a Kris+ Account?
The new-user reward is not available to you. Kris+ links one account to each KrisFlyer number, and a referral cannot be added to an existing account.
