Singapore Bank Codes, SWIFT & Branch Codes
The exact details to give a sender for 23 Singapore banks and money apps: SWIFT/BIC, bank code, branch code, address and account number format. It also says plainly which digital banks can't receive an overseas transfer.
Before you send money: scammers often "update" bank details by email or chat. Always confirm the account number with the recipient by phone or in person, and remember that the bank won't check the name against the account number for you.
What do I give someone overseas to send me money?
Your full name, exactly as your bank has it
Your account number (Singapore has no IBAN)
The bank's SWIFT/BIC code, legal name and address (listed below)

For transfers inside Singapore you only need the account number and bank (FAST), or a mobile number, NRIC or UEN (PayNow).
First 3 digits of the account number (e.g. 123-4-567890 → 123). DBS says you do not need a branch code for overseas transfers.

FAST, GIRO, PayNow, MEPS and TT explained
FAST
An instant SGD transfer between Singapore banks, available 24/7. You need the bank and the account number. ABS caps it at S$200,000 per transaction, and your bank's own daily limit may be lower.
PayNow
Runs on FAST, but you pay a mobile number, NRIC/FIN or UEN instead of an account number. It's offered by most banks and by Wise, GrabPay and others.
GIRO
A batch transfer for salaries, bills and recurring payments. It takes about a working day and uses the bank code (and sometimes the branch code). It's needed for the "salary credit" bonus at many banks.
MEPS+ and overseas TT
MEPS+ is MAS's system for large SGD interbank payments. A telegraphic transfer (TT) arrives over SWIFT and needs the SWIFT/BIC code. Fees are usually charged by the sending, intermediary and receiving banks.
Sending money overseas instead?
Bank TTs often stack a fixed fee, an FX markup and intermediary charges. A multi-currency account usually costs less for personal transfers.
Frequently asked questions
Does Singapore use IBAN?
No. Singapore banks don't issue IBANs. To receive money from overseas, give the sender your account name, account number, the bank's SWIFT/BIC code and the bank's name and address. If a form insists on an IBAN, enter your account number.
What is the SWIFT code for DBS and POSB?
DBSSSGSG for both. POSB accounts are held with DBS Bank Ltd, so there is no separate POSB SWIFT code. The local bank code is 7171 for both; POSB's branch code is always 081.
What are the bank codes for OCBC, UOB and DBS?
OCBC is 7339, UOB is 7375 and DBS/POSB is 7171. Their SWIFT codes are OCBCSGSG, UOVBSGSG and DBSSSGSG.
Can I receive an overseas transfer into Trust Bank, GXS or MariBank?
GXS doesn't accept telegraphic transfers at all, and Trust Bank only supports local SGD transfers. MariBank accepts incoming overseas transfers only in SGD and only above S$5,000. For foreign-currency income, use a bank such as DBS, OCBC or UOB, or a Wise account.
Which Standard Chartered SWIFT code should I use?
SCBLSG22, with bank code 9496. From 23 May 2026, incoming transfers sent to the old code SCBLSGSG are rejected, so ask your sender to update any saved payee.
Which HSBC SWIFT code is for personal accounts?
HSBCSGS2 (HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited, bank code 9548). HSBCSGSG and bank code 7232 are for HSBC corporate accounts. HSBC warns that the wrong code can lead to rejection and extra charges.
Do I still need a branch code?
Usually not. FAST, PayNow and overseas transfers work without one, and MariBank and DBS both say it isn't needed. Some GIRO forms still ask for it; the rule for each bank is listed on its card above.
What is the difference between FAST, GIRO, PayNow and MEPS?
FAST is an instant SGD transfer between Singapore banks, available 24/7. GIRO is a batch transfer used for salaries and recurring bills, and it usually takes a working day or more. PayNow sends money by FAST to a mobile number, NRIC/FIN or UEN instead of an account number. MEPS is the central bank's real-time system for large-value interbank SGD payments, often used for SWIFT payments in SGD.
How this page is checked
Every bank code and SWIFT code is matched against the ABS participant list. Every address is matched against the MAS Financial Institutions Directory or the bank's own remittance page, and each card links to its sources. Where sources disagree, the card says so instead of guessing. Last verified 16 Oct 2026. If you spot an error, email dlcuration@gmail.com and we'll recheck it.
