Trust Freedom Card Miles: How to Get Up to 100,000 Max Miles as a New Cardholder (Worth S$1,800)

Trust Bank just made its Freedom Card significantly more interesting for miles collectors.

The card launched with Cashback and Stockback as reward options. Miles was always the obvious missing piece — and now it is here, with a welcome promo that is hard to ignore if you have big-ticket spending coming up before the end of October.

Here is the headline: as a new Trust credit cardholder who selects Miles as your reward mode, you can earn up to 100,000 Max Miles worth up to S$1,800 in flight credits. That is not a typo. The three-tier promo is tied to spending thresholds within your first 31 days — and if you have a renovation, a medical bill, or a large purchase on the horizon, this is worth reading carefully.

I have gone through the official Trust Bank terms, cross-referenced the spend exclusions, and pulled together everything you need to know before you apply. No fluff, no padding — just what matters.

What Changed: Miles Is Now a Reward Option on the Trust Freedom Card

The Trust Freedom Card has always let cardholders choose between three reward modes: Cashback, Bonus Cashback, and Stockback. As of September 2026, Miles has been added as a fourth option.

When you select Miles, you earn 1.3 Trust Miles per S$1 spent — awarded for every S$5 block of spending. Trust Miles convert to either KrisFlyer miles or Max Miles (via HeyMax) at a 1:1 ratio. The conversion fee is S$27.25 inclusive of GST, which is standard for Singapore miles transfer programmes.

What makes this genuinely interesting is the combination: 1.3 miles per dollar with zero foreign transaction fee. Most miles cards charge 2.5–3.5% on overseas spending, which quietly erodes the value of every mile you earn abroad. The Trust Freedom Card charges nothing. There is no annual card fee either.

For travellers who spend heavily overseas and want their miles on both local and foreign spend to go to the same pool — without the FX drag — this setup is cleaner than most.

The Welcome Promo: Up to 100,000 Max Miles for New Cardholders

This is the part that makes the launch genuinely exciting. From 21 September to 31 October 2026, new Trust credit card customers who apply for the Freedom Card and select Miles as their reward mode can earn bonus Max Miles in three tiers:

Qualifying Spend (within first 31 days)Bonus Max MilesTotal Max Miles
S$1,00020,00020,000
S$5,000Additional 30,00050,000
S$15,000Additional 50,000100,000

The tiers stack. If you spend S$15,000, you receive all three rewards — 20,000 + 30,000 + 50,000 — for a combined 100,000 Max Miles. These are credited as separate scratch cards inside the Trust app, one per tier reached.

This is on top of the 1.3 miles per dollar you earn from the spending itself. The welcome bonus alone is the headline.

What Are 100,000 Max Miles Actually Worth?

HeyMax offers a FlyAnywhere redemption option that lets you offset eligible flight purchases at a floor value of 1.8 cents per Max Mile. At that rate:

Spend TierBonus MilesFlyAnywhere Value
S$1,00020,000S$360
S$5,00050,000S$900
S$15,000100,000S$1,800

That S$1,800 is the floor — the minimum value if you use the simplest possible redemption path. Max Miles can also be transferred to over 25 airline, hotel, and lifestyle partners through HeyMax, which opens up significantly higher redemption values for anyone willing to hunt for sweet spots.

To put 100,000 miles in context: that is enough for a round-trip Business Class ticket to Europe on many partner programmes, or multiple Economy redemptions across Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.

The 31-Day Spend Window: How It Actually Works

This is the most important operational detail. You do not have until 31 October 2026 to complete the spending — you have 31 days from the date your card application is approved, subject to a hard outer deadline of 30 November 2026, 11:59pm SGT.

What this means in practice:

  • Apply on 1 October → your spend window runs until 1 November (within the November deadline)
  • Apply on 25 October → your spend window still runs 31 days from approval, but cannot exceed 30 November

The application must be approved between 21 September and 31 October 2026. Submitting on 31 October is fine, but your approval timing determines when the clock starts.

Do not bank on spending in the final days. Some transactions — particularly at merchants that batch-process — can take several working days to post to your account. Posted date is what counts, not the transaction date.

Track Progress via the Trust App

Once your card is approved, a Quest appears in the Trust app. Go to Rewards → Quests and you will see your aggregate qualifying spend tracked in real time. Only eligible transactions move the progress bar.

What Spending Counts (and What Does Not)

Not all spending qualifies. The standard exclusions for Trust’s rewards programme apply here. Major categories that do not count:

  • Cash advances
  • AXS, SAM, and ATM transactions
  • Insurance premiums
  • Instant loans and balance transfers
  • Instalment payment plans
  • Government payments and taxes
  • Utilities
  • Education payments
  • Financial institutions and gambling

Transactions that are cancelled, refunded, voided, reversed, or still pending at the end of the promo period also do not count.

The merchant category code (MCC) assigned to the transaction determines whether it qualifies — not the merchant’s name. If you have a HeyMax account linked to your Trust Freedom Card, the HeyMax Card Maximiser will display the MCC for transactions, which helps you verify eligibility before the spend window closes.

Refer to the official Trust Freedom Card terms for the full exclusion list.

How to Redeem Your Max Miles

When you hit a spending tier, a scratch card appears in your Trust app. Scratch it to reveal a unique coupon code containing Max Miles. The coupon then lives under Coupons & Stamps in the app.

You need a HeyMax account to receive and use the Max Miles. If you do not already have one, download the HeyMax app and create an account before you apply. Then:

  1. Link your Trust Freedom Card in HeyMax (via Cards or Profile → My Cards → Add Card)
  2. Verify the card
  3. Confirm Miles is selected as your reward mode under Card Settings

Once linked, you can redeem the coupon codes from Trust into your HeyMax Max Miles balance and then transfer them to your preferred airline or hotel programme.

Who Qualifies as a New Cardholder

A new Trust credit card customer is someone who has no existing and no previously cancelled Trust credit card. If you held a Trust card before — even if it is now closed — you do not qualify for this welcome bonus.

You must also:

  • Select Miles as your reward mode at the time of application (not Cashback, Bonus Cashback, or Stockback)
  • Have your application approved between 21 September and 31 October 2026

Changing your reward mode after approval does not retroactively qualify you for the welcome bonus.

How to Choose the Right Spend Tier

Not everyone needs to hit S$15,000 to make this worth it. Here is how to think about which tier to target:

If you have routine monthly spending of S$1,000–2,000: The S$1,000 tier is essentially free — you would have spent this anyway. 20,000 Max Miles worth S$360 in flight credits is a solid return for zero additional outlay.

If you have a large purchase coming up — renovation, medical, electronics, travel booking: The S$5,000 tier at 50,000 Max Miles (S$900 value) becomes very compelling. One dental procedure, one air ticket booking, or one furniture purchase can move you across the threshold.

If you are looking at S$15,000+ in near-term spending: The S$15,000 tier at 100,000 Max Miles (S$1,800 value) is genuinely exceptional — but only pursue this if the spending was going to happen regardless. Do not manufacture S$15,000 of spending to chase a bonus.

Bottom line: Target the tier your natural spending gets you to within 31 days. Let the bonus reward the spending, not the other way around.

Is the Trust Freedom Card Worth It Beyond the Welcome Promo?

The welcome promo is time-limited. The card’s permanent features are what determine whether it earns a long-term spot in your wallet.

What the Trust Freedom Card is great at (Miles mode):

  • Zero foreign transaction fee — the actual standout feature
  • 1.3 miles per dollar on all spend, local and overseas
  • No annual card fee — costs nothing to hold
  • Instant conversion to Max Miles or KrisFlyer at 1:1
  • Access to HeyMax’s 25+ transfer partners through Max Miles

Where it falls short:

  • 1.3 miles per dollar is not competitive against specialist miles cards for local spend (most top out at 1.4–4 miles per dollar on selected categories)
  • The S$27.25 conversion fee applies per transfer batch — small balance conversions are inefficient
  • Awarded for every S$5 spent means fractional dollars within each S$5 block do not count
  • No lounge access, travel insurance, or supplementary travel benefits

The honest verdict: As a primary miles card for everyday local spending, there are stronger options. As a card specifically for overseas transactions — where the zero FX fee plus 1.3 miles combination beats cards that charge 3.5% FX fees on an effective earn rate basis — it is genuinely competitive. Keep it for international spending, and pair it with a higher-earn card for local categories.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who qualifies as a new Trust credit card customer for this promo?

Anyone who does not currently hold and has never previously held a Trust credit card — including cancelled cards. If you held a Trust card before, you are not eligible for the welcome bonus regardless of current status.

Do I need to select Miles during the application, or can I switch later?

You must select Miles as your reward mode during the application process. Switching after approval does not qualify you for the Max Miles welcome bonus. If you are applying specifically for this promotion, confirm the mode before submitting.

What happens if I choose Cashback or Stockback by mistake?

You lose eligibility for the Max Miles welcome promo entirely. The bonus is tied specifically to the Miles reward mode selection. There is no way to retroactively claim it.

Does the S$27.25 conversion fee apply to the welcome bonus Max Miles too?

No. The welcome bonus Max Miles are credited directly to your HeyMax account via a coupon code from the Trust app — there is no conversion fee for the promotional miles. The S$27.25 fee applies when you convert earned Trust Miles from card spending.

Can I combine the Trust Freedom Card welcome bonus with other promotions or codes?

The welcome bonus is a separate promo from any referral programme. You can apply using my referral code (2GG9T8K3) — which may give additional rewards — and still qualify for the welcome bonus as long as you meet the eligibility conditions. Check the current referral offer at dlcuration.com/trust-bank-referral-code.html.

Is Trust Bank regulated and safe to use?

Yes. Trust Bank is a digital bank backed by Standard Chartered Bank and FairPrice Group. It is licensed and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Deposits with Trust Bank are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC) up to S$100,000 per depositor.

Final Verdict

The Trust Freedom Card miles launch is well-timed and the welcome promo is genuinely one of the better new cardholder offers in Singapore right now.

The deal in plain terms:

  • S$1,000 spend → 20,000 Max Miles → S$360 minimum value
  • S$5,000 spend → 50,000 Max Miles → S$900 minimum value
  • S$15,000 spend → 100,000 Max Miles → S$1,800 minimum value

These are based on HeyMax’s FlyAnywhere floor rate. Actual value can be higher if you transfer to airline or hotel partners and find better redemption rates.

The permanent card features — zero FX fee, zero annual fee, 1.3 miles per dollar — make it a logical card to hold long-term for overseas spending, even after the welcome bonus is collected.

If you are a new Trust cardholder and have meaningful spending in the next 31 days, this is worth acting on before 31 October 2026. The window is short.
