HeyMax Review 2026: Are Max Miles Still Worth Collecting After the Cuts?

HeyMax is the app that made Singapore miles collectors buy their groceries as vouchers. It pays Max Miles on shopping, vouchers, dining and even MRT rides, on top of whatever your credit card already earns. Those miles transfer to airline and hotel programmes, or pay for any flight at a fixed rate.

It is free, and for many people it adds thousands of miles a year for no extra spending. But 2026 has been a year of change. On 1 June, HeyMax removed 17 transfer partners, including Marriott, Hilton and Emirates, and ended Cash For Miles. KrisFlyer is now only reachable through yuu Rewards.

I went through the current earning routes, voucher rates, transfer partners, the KrisFlyer route, HeyMax First and the October 2026 promotions. Here is the complete, honest verdict.

What Is HeyMax?

HeyMax is a Singapore rewards app started in 2023 by former Meta staff. It earns commission when you shop through its links or buy vouchers in the app, and pays part of that back to you as Max Miles.

The key idea is stacking. You still pay with your own credit card, so you still earn your card’s miles or cashback. Max Miles are extra.

HeyMax is a loyalty programme, not a bank or an investment. Max Miles are points, not money, and HeyMax can change what they are worth, as the June 2026 cuts showed.

How You Earn Max Miles

Vouchers — The Strongest Feature

You buy a merchant’s voucher in the app with your credit card and earn Max Miles instantly. Rates Lobang Sis recorded in July 2026, in Max Miles per S$1:

VoucherMax Miles per S$1
Airalo eSIM10.00
Ryde4.00
Sephora3.20
iShopChangi3.00
Grab2.20
Amazon.sg1.40
Klook1.25
Sheng Siong0.20
NTUC FairPrice0.10

The trick is the card. Voucher purchases often code as department store or online spend, which earns 4 miles per dollar on several specialised cards. If your card earns 4 miles per dollar on the purchase, a Grab voucher works out to about 6.2 miles per dollar in total. Rates change often, so check the app before you buy.

Shop With Max

Open a shop’s link in HeyMax before you check out, at 500+ online shops including Shopee, Amazon, Apple and Agoda. The merchant pays HeyMax, your price does not change, and Max Miles show as pending until the merchant confirms the sale, which can take days to weeks.

Dining, Transport and Card-Linked Offers

You can also earn on Dine Out bookings, on Singapore bus and MRT taps, and through card-linked offers. Card-linked offers only work with eligible Visa cards.

Partner Cards

Some cards pay Max Miles directly. In October 2026, new Trust credit card customers who choose Miles mode on the Trust Freedom Card can earn up to 100,000 Max Miles, approved by 31 October. Our Trust Freedom card miles guide explains how it works.

What Max Miles Are Worth

Every figure below is from our HeyMax referral page, updated 19 October 2026.

Transfer to Airlines and Hotels

  • 25+ programmes, most at 1:1, with a minimum of 1,000 Max Miles.
  • Partners include Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, Malaysia Airlines Enrich, EVA Air, Accor, IHG and Shangri-La Circle.
  • Accor converts at 3:2 and IHG at 1:1.5 outside promotions.
  • Transfer bonuses run often. In October 2026, Qatar gives up to 35% bonus Avios and Malaysia Airlines Enrich gives 20%.

FlyAnywhere

Book any flight on any airline yourself, submit the receipt within 31 days, and HeyMax pays you back by PayNow at 1.8 cents per Max Mile. It also covers the taxes on award tickets. This is the simple floor value: 10,000 Max Miles equals S$180 off a flight.

Gift Cards

From 1,000 Max Miles at about 1 cent each. That is the weakest use and best avoided.

KrisFlyer: The Long Way Round

There is no direct KrisFlyer transfer. You convert Max Miles to yuu Rewards Club, then yuu points to KrisFlyer, at about 0.83 KrisFlyer miles per Max Mile. Occasional yuu bonuses bring it closer to 1:1. Max Miles Day, on the 25th of each month, has offered 20% extra on yuu conversions in the past. If KrisFlyer is all you collect, that is a 17% haircut. Our guide on how to value air miles helps you work out if it is still worth it.

Hidden Costs and Catches

Partner cuts. On 1 June 2026, HeyMax removed 17 partners, including Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, Emirates Skywards, Qantas and British Airways, per The Money Bees. Miles are only as valuable as where they can go, so do not hoard for a single partner.

Tracking can fail. Ad blockers, VPNs, outside coupon codes or starting checkout outside the HeyMax link can lose your Max Miles.

Voucher limits. Many vouchers are single-use, some work only in-store, and most cannot be combined with merchant promotions.

Stay active. Max Miles do not expire while your account is active, which means logging in at least once every 12 months.

HeyMax First: Fly Now, Earn Later

HeyMax First launched in 2026. Members draw from a prepaid Miles Pool to book premium flights now, then refill it with Max Miles they earn later.

TierMiles PoolAnnual fee
Silver30,000Free
Gold100,000S$299
Platinum300,000S$699
Reserve1,000,000S$1,999

Drawing from the pool needs a refundable access fee, returned as you earn the miles back. It suits heavy spenders who want a premium-cabin seat before they have the miles. For most people, the free app is enough.

HeyMax vs Kris+ vs ShopBack: Which Should You Use?

Use HeyMax if you buy vouchers and shop online and want miles you can spend on any airline.

Use Kris+ if you only collect KrisFlyer and eat out at its partner merchants.

Use ShopBack if you would rather have cash than miles. Many people use all three, checking which pays most before each purchase.

Who Should Use HeyMax

HeyMax is a strong fit if:

  • You already collect miles with a credit card.
  • You buy Grab, Klook, Sephora or online shopping vouchers anyway.
  • You fly at least once a year and can use FlyAnywhere.
  • You like Asia Miles, Qatar Avios, Flying Blue or JAL miles.
  • You want extra miles without changing what you spend.

HeyMax is not a strong fit if:

  • You only want KrisFlyer miles.
  • You prefer simple cashback with no thinking.
  • You use ad blockers or VPNs when shopping and will not turn them off.
  • You collected for Marriott, Hilton or Emirates, which are gone.
  • You do not want another app to check before every purchase.

Is HeyMax Worth It in 2026?

Yes, for most miles collectors. It is free, it stacks with your card, and FlyAnywhere gives every Max Mile a floor value of 1.8 cents. Someone who buys S$300 of Grab vouchers a month at 2.2 Max Miles per dollar earns about 7,900 Max Miles a year, worth about S$140 off a flight before any card miles.

The June 2026 cuts make it less attractive for hotel collectors and Emirates or BA flyers, and KrisFlyer fans lose about 17% on the yuu route. If those were your reasons to use HeyMax, rethink.

The test for your first month: sign up with a referral code, buy one voucher you would have bought anyway, and check the Max Miles credit. Then compare one online purchase through Shop With Max against ShopBack.

Sign-up offer: new users who enter a referral code at sign-up, verify their phone number and make a first qualifying purchase of any amount get 200 Max Miles, worth S$3.60 at the FlyAnywhere rate. Both steps must be done within 180 days. The HeyMax referral guide shows where to enter the code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is HeyMax legit?

Yes. HeyMax is a Singapore rewards app started in 2023. It is paid by merchants when you shop or buy vouchers through it, and passes part of that to you as Max Miles. Max Miles are loyalty points, not money, and HeyMax can change partners and rates, as it did in June 2026.

How much is a Max Mile worth?

At least 1.8 cents through FlyAnywhere, which pays you back by PayNow for any flight you book. Transferred to an airline programme for a business class award, a Max Mile can be worth more. Gift cards give about 1 cent, the weakest option.

Can I transfer Max Miles to KrisFlyer?

Not directly. You convert Max Miles to yuu Rewards Club, then to KrisFlyer, at about 0.83 KrisFlyer miles per Max Mile. Occasional yuu bonuses improve the rate.

Do Max Miles expire?

No, as long as your account stays active, which means logging in at least once every 12 months. Once transferred, miles follow the airline or hotel programme’s own expiry rules.

Which partners did HeyMax remove in 2026?

On 1 June 2026, HeyMax removed 17 transfer partners, including Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors, World of Hyatt, Emirates Skywards, Qantas and British Airways, and ended Cash For Miles. Partners such as Asia Miles, Qatar Privilege Club, Flying Blue and JAL Mileage Bank remain.

Is HeyMax First worth it?

Only for heavy spenders who want a premium flight before they have earned the miles. The free Silver tier has a 30,000-mile pool, and paid tiers cost S$299 to S$1,999 a year. Most people get full value from the free app.

Final Verdict

HeyMax earns 4.1 out of 5 stars.

It earns its best marks for what it costs and what it adds. A free app that stacks miles on top of your credit card, with a 1.8-cent floor value through FlyAnywhere and high rates on everyday vouchers, is one of the easiest wins in Singapore miles.

The deductions come from the 2026 changes. Seventeen partners gone, no direct KrisFlyer route and tracking that can fail make it less of a sure thing than it was.

Join HeyMax if you collect miles and buy vouchers or shop online. Spend your Max Miles regularly rather than hoarding them.
