Best Air Purifiers in Singapore (2026): 10 Picks Sized for HDB Rooms and Haze

On the evening of 15 October, the 24-hour PSI in central Singapore hit 186. The one-hour PM2.5 reading reached 217 µg/m³ — four times NEA’s “normal” band.

That is when everyone searches for an air purifier at once, and the boxes all say roughly the same thing: True HEPA, “up to 60 m²”, whisper quiet.

The room-size number is the one that misleads people. Most brands quote the area a purifier can clean once an hour. Haze and allergies need the air in your room cleaned several times an hour. A purifier sold for “60 m²” can be just right for a 30 m² living room and no more.

So I did the maths the boxes skip. For each popular model sold in Singapore, I took the most trustworthy clean air delivery rate (CADR) I could find — an independent lab figure where one exists, the brand’s own claim where it doesn’t — and worked out which HDB room it can actually handle. I also added up three years of filters and electricity, because a cheap purifier with pricey filters stops being cheap by year two.

Here are the 10 best air purifiers in Singapore in 2026, and the one rule that decides which size you need.

What to Look For in an Air Purifier in Singapore

Five things separate a purifier that clears haze from one that just hums in the corner.

  • A smoke CADR that fits your room. NEA’s rule is a smoke CADR of at least three times your room’s volume in cubic metres. For haze or allergies, aim for five times.
  • A real HEPA-grade filter plus activated carbon. The HEPA layer catches PM2.5; the carbon handles haze smell and cooking odours. Words like “HEPA-type” or a brand’s own filter name are not a grade.
  • No ozone. Ionisers, “plasma” and similar features can give off ozone, which irritates lungs. Pick a model that lets you switch them off, or one without them.
  • Quiet on its lowest useful speed. You will run it overnight in a closed aircon bedroom. Under about 35 dB is where most people stop noticing it.
  • Filter cost per year. In Singapore’s humidity and haze, filters clog faster than the box suggests. A S$90 filter every nine months adds up to more than many units cost.

The 10 Best Air Purifiers in Singapore in 2026

The “real CADR” column uses an independent lab figure where one exists. The “haze-ready room” column is the largest room each purifier can clean five times an hour, with a 2.6 m ceiling.

The 3-year cost is the lowest current Singapore price, plus filters at the middle of each brand’s stated filter life, plus electricity at full speed for 10 hours a night at SP Group’s October 2026 tariff (31.16 cents/kWh). Full speed is a worst case — most nights you will pay less.

1. Levoit Core 400S — Best Overall

→ Check the Core 400S price on Lazada

The Core 400S is the purifier whose numbers I trust most. Its smoke CADR of 231 CFM (392 m³/h) is listed on the ENERGY STAR database, which uses AHAM’s independent test — not a figure Levoit wrote itself. The same listing measures ozone at 0–1 parts per billion, so there is nothing to worry about on that front.

That CADR covers a 30 m² room at haze strength — a typical HDB living and dining area — or a master bedroom with plenty to spare. It runs at 24 dB on sleep, and the VeSync app shows a live PM2.5 reading so you can watch it bring a hazy room down.

Make sure you buy the standard Core 400S (SG model LV-400S-WH), not the PlasmaPro version. The PlasmaPro adds an ioniser.

What the Core 400S is great at:

  • Certified performance you can check yourself, which is rare in this price range.
  • No ioniser and near-zero ozone, so it is safe to run next to a sleeping baby.
  • Enough output for a whole living room during haze.
  • Filter variants for pets, smoke or odours, sold at Courts and on Levoit’s stores.

Where it falls short:

  • The pre-filter is bonded to the main filter, so you replace the whole cartridge.
  • Auto mode reacts slowly to smoke. Set it manually on bad haze days.
  • The app occasionally drops Wi-Fi and shows product ads.
  • Singapore listings still say “H13 True HEPA”. Levoit stopped using that claim in 2023 after a challenge by Dyson.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$312–339 (Challenger, HipVan, Levoit Official Store).
  • Filter: about S$89 (Courts, specialty variants), every 6–12 months.
  • 3-year cost: about S$798.

Bottom line: If you want one purifier for the living room that clears haze and has numbers you can verify, buy this one.

2. Levoit Core 300S — Best for Bedrooms on a Budget

→ Check the Core 300S price on Lazada

The Core 300S is the smaller sibling, and it is the one I would put in a bedroom. Its AHAM smoke CADR of 126 CFM (214 m³/h) cleans a 16 m² room five times an hour — more than enough for any HDB common bedroom (around 10 m²) or most master bedrooms (11–14 m²).

It is small (22 cm across), draws 23 W at full speed and drops to 22 dB on sleep. In a closed aircon bedroom, that is quieter than the aircon itself.

What the Core 300S is great at:

  • Right-sized for the room where you spend eight hours a night.
  • No ioniser, and Levoit labels it ozone-free.
  • Cheap to run: about S$26 a year in electricity even at full speed.
  • Small enough to sit on a bedside table.

Where it falls short:

  • Too small for a living room during haze.
  • The carbon layer is thin, so heavy cooking smells are beyond it.
  • The filter (about S$50) needs changing every 6–8 months.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$208–219 (Challenger, HipVan).
  • Filter: Core 300-RF, S$49.90 at Courts, every 6–8 months.
  • 3-year cost: about S$543.

Bottom line: The safest bedroom purifier for most Singapore homes. If you need to cover a living room as well, buy the Core 400S instead of two of these.

3. Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Pro — Best Value for Living Rooms

→ Check the 4 Pro price on Lazada

Xiaomi claims a particle CADR of 500 m³/h for the 4 Pro. If that holds, it can clean a 38 m² room at haze strength — the biggest coverage on this list for under S$400.

The catch is that 500 m³/h comes from China’s GB/T 18801 test, run by Xiaomi’s chosen lab. I could not find an independent test. When HouseFresh tested its smaller sibling, the 4 Compact, it measured about 15% below Xiaomi’s claim. Assume the 4 Pro will do the same and it still covers a 4-room living area.

It also has an ioniser that is on by default. Switch it off in the Xiaomi Home app.

What the 4 Pro is great at:

  • The most claimed output per dollar on this list.
  • A clear OLED display with live PM2.5 readings.
  • A generous 650 g of activated carbon for haze smell and cooking odours.
  • Works with Google Assistant and Alexa.

Where it falls short:

  • No independent CADR, and no H13 or HEPA grade claimed — Xiaomi calls it a “high efficiency filter”.
  • Filters carry an RFID chip, so cheap third-party filters trigger warnings.
  • Stock is thin in Singapore. Xiaomi now promotes the newer Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 (443 m³/h, S$222–299), which may be easier to find.
  • Loud at full speed (up to 65 dB).

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$238–399, depending on seller and stock.
  • Filter: M15R-FLP-GL, S$66–75, every 6–12 months.
  • 3-year cost: about S$692.

Bottom line: The value pick for a large living room, if you turn the ioniser off and buy from Xiaomi’s official store with local warranty.

4. Philips PureProtect 3200 — Best for Large Open-Plan Rooms

→ Check the PureProtect 3200 price on Lazada

The PureProtect 3200 (AC3220/10) replaced the popular Series 3000i in Singapore. Philips claims 520 m³/h. HouseFresh measured 423 m³/h in its lab — lower, but still enough for a 32 m² room at haze strength.

Where it earns its price is quietness. It moves a lot of air while staying under 45 dB, and drops to 15 dB on sleep. Philips also states that it emits no ions or ozone.

Ignore the “up to 135 m²” on the box. That figure assumes the air is cleaned roughly once an hour, which is nowhere near enough during haze.

What the PureProtect 3200 is great at:

  • Strong output that stays quiet at mid speeds.
  • No ioniser, no ozone.
  • Fast laser sensor and a clear air-quality ring.
  • Well supported by Philips service centres in Singapore.

Where it falls short:

  • Expensive for its output: the Xiaomi 4 Pro claims more for half the price.
  • “HEPA NanoProtect” is Philips’s own label, not a certified HEPA grade.
  • The filter (FY3200/30) is one bonded cartridge, and its Singapore price is not listed yet.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$555–699 (Harvey Norman, Challenger).
  • Filter: FY3200/30, every 12 months; Singapore price not published.
  • 3-year cost: about S$678 plus three filters.

Bottom line: Buy it if you want a quiet, reputable purifier for a big living room and do not mind paying for the Philips name.

5. Blueair Blue Max 3450i — Highest Output

→ Check the Blue Max 3450i price on Lazada

Blueair rates the Blue Max 3450i at a smoke CADR of 339 CFM (576 m³/h). That makes it the most powerful purifier here, good for a 44 m² room at haze strength — a 5-room flat’s living and dining area.

Blueair is also one of the few brands that sizes its own purifiers honestly. Its listing quotes 43 m² at five air changes an hour, which matches my calculation.

Its HEPASilent filter works differently from the others. It gives particles a small electrostatic charge so a looser filter can catch them. That is why it is quiet for its output — but it also means the filter is not a certified HEPA grade.

What the Blue Max 3450i is great at:

  • The most output on this list, from a brand that sizes rooms honestly.
  • Quiet for its power (23–50 dB).
  • Washable fabric pre-filter, available in different colours.
  • Sold through Blueair’s official Lazada store.

Where it falls short:

  • Filter efficiency relies on the electrostatic charge, which fades as the filter ages.
  • Replacement filter prices are not listed in Singapore.
  • At S$599, it costs nearly double the Levoit Core 400S.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$599 (Blueair Official Store on Lazada).
  • Filter: Blue Max 3450i Particle + Carbon, every 9–12 months.
  • 3-year cost: about S$729 plus three to four filters.

Bottom line: The one to buy for a large open-plan home or a household with severe allergies.

6. LG PuriCare 360 Hit — Best 360° Design Under S$400

→ Check the PuriCare 360 Hit on Shopee

The PuriCare 360 Hit (AS60GHWG0) pulls air in from all sides, so it works anywhere in the room — not only against a wall. LG claims 480 m³/h, which would cover a 37 m² room at haze strength.

LG doesn’t say which test standard sits behind that number, so treat it as a ceiling, not a guarantee. It does have an H13 HEPA filter, a PM1.0 sensor, and a gas sensor that reacts to cooking smells.

What the PuriCare 360 Hit is great at:

  • 360° intake, so placement in the middle of a room works.
  • H13 HEPA filter with a washable pre-filter.
  • A PM1.0 sensor, which reacts to finer particles than most.
  • Good value at S$399 for its claimed output.

Where it falls short:

  • It has an ioniser, and LG publishes no ozone figure.
  • No remote. You need the LG ThinQ app or the buttons on top.
  • LG Singapore does not list the filter’s price or life on its product page.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$399 (Harvey Norman).
  • Filter: price and life not published by LG SG.
  • 3-year cost: about S$539 plus filters.

Bottom line: A good-looking, capable living room purifier, best for people who want a 360° unit and will keep the ioniser off.

7. Panasonic F-PXM55A — Lowest Filter Cost

→ Check the F-PXM55A on Amazon.sg

This Panasonic is the only purifier here whose HEPA filter is rated for about 10 years. Over three years, every other model with a known filter price costs you S$190–360 in filters. This one costs nothing.

Panasonic doesn’t publish a CADR. It rates the F-PXM55A at up to 41 m² under Japan’s JEM 1467 standard, with a maximum airflow of 318 m³/h. Its real CADR will sit below that airflow, so think of it as a strong master bedroom or small living room purifier, not a large living room one.

It uses “nanoe” ions (the older version, not “nanoe X”). Panasonic says these release a very small amount of ozone, “far below natural levels”, but gives no figure.

What the F-PXM55A is great at:

  • A HEPA filter rated for about 10 years, so no filter cost for most owners.
  • 18 dB on its lowest setting — the quietest figure on this list.
  • Econavi sensors that adjust speed automatically.
  • Panasonic’s Singapore service network.

Where it falls short:

  • No published CADR, which makes it hard to compare.
  • No app or Wi-Fi.
  • nanoe produces a small amount of ozone, and you cannot turn it off separately.
  • Ten-year filter life assumes normal use. Heavy haze or smoking shortens it.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$499–560 (Best Denki, SG dealers).
  • Filter: F-ZXMP55Z HEPA, rated about 10 years; deodorising filter F-ZXHD55Z when it stops working.
  • 3-year cost: about S$666.

Bottom line: The pick for people who hate buying filters and want a quiet, no-app purifier for a bedroom or small living room.

8. Novita A11i — Best Singapore Brand for Mid-Size Rooms

→ Check the A11i price on Lazada

Novita is a Singapore brand, and the A11i is its best-value purifier. Novita quotes a smoke CADR of 318.5 m³/h using AHAM’s test method, which would clean a 24 m² room at haze strength — a large master bedroom or a 3-room flat’s living area.

That figure comes from Novita’s own testing; the A11i isn’t in AHAM’s public directory. Ignore the “up to 100 m²” claim, which assumes two air changes an hour.

Its 24-month filter pack (S$129) is good value, and buying locally means local service.

What the Novita A11i is great at:

  • An H13 HEPA filter with carbon, at S$258.
  • A 24-month filter pack, so you change filters once every two years.
  • A Singapore company with a local service centre.
  • Slim enough to sit against a wall.

Where it falls short:

  • It has a plasma ioniser, and Novita publishes no ozone figure.
  • Its room-size claims are far bigger than its CADR supports.
  • 58 W at full speed is high for its output.
  • Stock comes and goes. The e-store showed pre-order dates in October 2026.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$258–268 (novita e-store; RRP S$469).
  • Filter: A11i PuriPRO 24-month pack, S$129.
  • 3-year cost: about S$650.

Bottom line: A good-value mid-size purifier from a local brand, as long as you’re comfortable with the ioniser.

→ See the novita Official Store on Lazada

9. Novita ND2+ — Best 2-in-1 for Damp Rooms

→ Get the Novita ND2+ with 5-year warranty on Lazada

The ND2+ is a dehumidifier first and an air purifier second, and that order matters. In Singapore, humidity is often the bigger problem: musty wardrobes, mould on bathroom ceilings, laundry that won’t dry, and dust mites that thrive above 60% humidity.

As a dehumidifier, it pulls out 10 litres a day (at 30°C and 80% humidity) for a room up to 38 m², with a 2.5 L tank or a hose to the drain. As a purifier, it pushes 95 m³/h through an H13 HEPA and carbon filter. That suits a 7–12 m² room — a common bedroom or study — not a living room during haze.

It comes with a 5-year full warranty, which is the longest of any model here.

What the ND2+ is great at:

  • Two jobs in one box, for one power socket and one footprint.
  • A real fix for musty rooms, mould and laundry drying indoors.
  • H13 HEPA and carbon filtration while it dehumidifies.
  • A 5-year warranty and a 24-month filter pack (S$128).

Where it falls short:

  • Purifier airflow is small. It won’t keep up with haze in a large room.
  • The compressor draws 145 W, so it costs more to run than any purifier here.
  • At 10.4 kg, it’s heavy to move between rooms.
  • Plasma ions are built in, and Novita publishes no ozone figure.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$398 (usual price S$569).
  • Filter: ND2+ 24-month pack, from S$128.
  • 3-year cost: up to S$1,085 if run 10 hours a night. Most people run it a few hours at a time, so expect less.

Bottom line: Buy it for a damp bedroom, study or laundry area where humidity is the main problem. For haze in a living room, pair it with a dedicated purifier.

→ See the ND2+ deal on Lazada

10. Dyson Purifier Cool PC2 De-NOx (TP12) — Best Fan and Purifier in One

→ Check the Dyson TP12 price on Lazada

Dyson’s tower is the only model here that is also a proper fan. If you sleep with a fan instead of aircon, it replaces two appliances. The TP12 adds a filter for nitrogen dioxide (traffic fumes) and a catalytic filter that breaks down formaldehyde from new furniture.

Here’s the honest part: Dyson publishes no CADR. HouseFresh measured 153 m³/h on the TP07, which uses the same tower and filter design. On that basis, the TP12 cleans a 12 m² bedroom at haze strength — less than the S$208 Levoit Core 300S.

You’re paying for the design, the fan, the sealed H13 filter and the formaldehyde filter, not for raw purifying power.

What the Dyson TP12 is great at:

  • A fan and a purifier in one, with 350° oscillation.
  • Sealed H13 HEPA filter, plus NO₂ and formaldehyde filtration.
  • Detailed air-quality data in the MyDyson app.
  • No ioniser.

Where it falls short:

  • The lowest purifying output on this list for the highest price.
  • Up to 61.5 dB at full speed.
  • Filters cost about S$89 a year.

Pricing:

  • Unit: S$1,109 (Dyson Singapore). The older TP10 is S$599 when in stock.
  • Filter: 360 Glass HEPA + carbon, S$71–89, every 12 months.
  • 3-year cost: about S$1,475.

Bottom line: Only buy it if you want a premium fan and value the formaldehyde filter. For pure haze protection, every other model here does more for less.

How to Choose the Right Air Purifier for Your Room

Measure your room’s floor area and use the haze-ready room column in the comparison table. Typical HDB sizes: common bedroom about 10 m², master bedroom 11–14 m², 4-room living and dining about 30 m².

  • If it’s for a common bedroom or study → Levoit Core 300S. If the room is also damp, the Novita ND2+.
  • If it’s for a master bedroom → Levoit Core 300S, or the Panasonic F-PXM55A if you never want to buy filters.
  • If it’s for a 3-room or 4-room living area → Levoit Core 400S, or the Xiaomi 4 Pro for more output at a lower price.
  • If it’s for a 5-room, executive or open-plan condo → Blueair Blue Max 3450i or Philips PureProtect 3200.
  • If someone in the home has asthma or a newborn → a model without an ioniser: Levoit, Philips or Dyson.
  • If you want one appliance to replace your fan → Dyson TP12.

Four Singapore-specific tips:

  • Close the room. A purifier can’t keep up with an open window during haze. Close windows, and turn off the fresh-air intake on window aircon units, as NEA advises.
  • Check your aircon filter. A dirty aircon recirculates dust. If it has been a year, book aircon servicing before the haze peaks.
  • Expect shorter filter life. Haze and humidity load filters faster than brand estimates. Check the filter indicator monthly during haze season.
  • Running cost is small. Even at full speed, most purifiers here cost under S$60 a year in electricity. For bigger savings, see how to lower your electricity bill.

How I Picked and Checked These

I did not lab-test these purifiers. Instead, I ranked them on the most reliable figure available for each:

  • CADR: AHAM-certified figures (ENERGY STAR database) first, independent lab tests (HouseFresh) second, and the brand’s claim last — labelled in the table.
  • Room size: NEA’s guidance (smoke CADR of at least three times room volume), raised to five air changes an hour for haze, with a 2.6 m ceiling.
  • 3-year cost: the lowest current Singapore price, filter prices from Singapore retailers and brand stores, and SP Group’s tariff for October to December 2026.
  • Availability: every pick is sold through Lazada, Shopee or Amazon.sg. Buy from the brand’s official or authorised store to get the Singapore plug and local warranty.

Prices and figures were checked on 16 October 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do air purifiers actually work for haze in Singapore?

Yes, if the purifier is big enough for the room and the windows are closed. NEA recommends HEPA filters for fine particles and a smoke CADR of at least three times the room’s volume. A purifier that is too small for the room only removes part of the haze.

What size air purifier do I need for an HDB bedroom?

For a 10–14 m² bedroom with a 2.6 m ceiling, look for a smoke CADR of at least 130–180 m³/h for haze. The Levoit Core 300S (214 m³/h) covers any HDB bedroom with room to spare.

Is it safe to run an air purifier all night?

Yes. Purifiers without an ioniser, such as the Levoit, Philips and Dyson models here, are safe to run overnight next to children and pets. If your purifier has an ioniser or plasma feature, switch it off at night if the app allows it.

Do air purifiers with ionisers produce ozone?

Some do. Ionisers, plasma and similar features can produce small amounts of ozone, which can irritate the lungs. Look for an independent ozone figure, such as the 0–1 ppb ENERGY STAR measured on the Levoit Core 400S, or choose a model without an ioniser.

Is a dehumidifier or an air purifier better for Singapore?

They solve different problems. A purifier removes haze, dust and allergens; a dehumidifier removes moisture that causes mould and dust mites. If your room smells musty or laundry won’t dry, a 2-in-1 like the Novita ND2+ handles both in a small room.

How often should I change my air purifier filter in Singapore?

Most filters last 6–12 months, but haze and humidity shorten that. Check the filter indicator monthly during haze season, and replace the filter when it looks grey or the purifier starts to smell.

Final Verdict

If you only buy one, buy the Levoit Core 400S for the room you spend the most waking hours in, and close the windows.
