How to Use a POEMS Referral Link in Singapore (2026): Step-by-Step Guide

The rewards are decent. The rules around them are where people slip. You have 14 days to fund, 30 days to hold, 30 days to log in to the app, and 90 days to claim the coupons and use them on a trade.
The coupons are also not cash. Each one is a rebate you collect by making an eligible buy trade.

Why Most People Use a POEMS Referral Link Wrong
POEMS’s referral programme runs from 1 September to 1 November 2026. It pays new clients who open an account through a referrer’s link.
Here are the mistakes I see most often:
- Looking for a code. There is no code to type. POEMS’s FAQ says the new client only needs to open an account using the referral link.
- Missing the SMART Park opt-in. POEMS’s terms require you to opt into Excess Funds Management (SMART Park) within 14 days.
- Funding with the wrong money. Only fresh cash from your bank account counts. Transfers within Phillip accounts, dividends and sale proceeds do not.
- Never claiming. You must claim the reward and make an eligible trade within 90 days of becoming eligible, or it is forfeited.
The principle the whole process is built on: open through the link, opt in and fund within 14 days, hold 30 days, then claim and trade.
What You Need Before You Start
Set aside about 20 minutes for the application. Have these ready:
- The POEMS referral link. Use the POEMS referral link or the DLCuration POEMS page.
- Singpass. For the account application.
- S$3,000 or S$10,000 in fresh cash. From your own bank account, which you can leave in for 30 days.
- No history with Phillip Securities. Existing or previously closed accounts, including joint and corporate accounts, disqualify you.
The Full Process: Step by Step
Step 1 — Open Your Account Through the Link (15 minutes)
Open the referral link and apply. POEMS only counts referrals made through the link.

POEMS’s referral terms name the Cash Management Account. Its FAQ also mentions Cash Plus. Check which account the sign-up page offers you, and do not change account type during the promotion.
What you end up with: a new POEMS account opened through the link.
Step 2 — Opt Into SMART Park Within 14 Days (2 minutes)
Opt into Excess Funds Management, called SMART Park, within 14 days. This is a condition of the referral terms.

Step 3 — Fund Fresh Cash Within 14 Days (5 minutes)
Transfer fresh cash from your bank account within 14 days of account opening:

Download POEMS Mobile 3 and log in within 30 days of account opening. POEMS’s terms make this a condition of receiving the reward.

Step 5 — Hold the Funds for 30 Days (30 days)
Keep your initial capital in the account for at least 30 days. You can use it to buy shares, but do not withdraw or transfer it out.
If withdrawals take your net deposit below S$3,000, you lose all rewards. Below S$10,000 but at or above S$3,000, you drop to the S$50 tier.

Step 6 — Claim the Coupons and Trade Within 90 Days (5 minutes)
Claim the reward and make an eligible trade within 90 days of becoming eligible. An eligible trade is:
- A buy trade in stocks only
- In the US or Singapore market
- A cash trade, placed online
- At least US$100 or S$100 in contract value
Each coupon is a one-time rebate of up to the trade’s value, credited within five working days of the trade. Coupons expire 90 days after they are issued.

Is the POEMS Referral Worth It? Three Realistic Examples
The SGX investor. You plan to buy S$10,000 of Singapore shares over a few months. You fund S$10,000 through the link and get ten S$20 coupons. Each S$100+ buy trade earns back up to S$20.
The S$3,000 starter. You fund S$3,000 and get five S$10 coupons. If you make five small buy trades of at least S$100 each, that is S$50 back.
The forgetful one. You fund the account but never claim or trade. After 90 days the reward is forfeited.
The coupons only have value if you buy shares through POEMS. If you only want a place to park cash, the coupons may go unused.

It does not pay cash. The reward is stock coupons, collected as rebates on eligible trades.
