How to Use the MariBank Business Account Referral Code 8ZUU96EA (2026 Guide)
Table of Contents
MariBank pays S$28 to new business customers who open a Mari Business Account with a referral code. No minimum deposit, no card spend, no salary credit.
That makes it one of the easiest business sign-up bonuses in Singapore. It also makes it easy to lose — because the rule that catches people out has nothing to do with the business.
The S$28 is for businesses that are completely new to MariBank. If any owner, partner, director or 25% shareholder already held a personal MariBank product, such as a Mari Savings Account, before 1 October 2026, the business does not qualify.
This guide walks through the exact sign-up order with referral code 8ZUU96EA, where the code goes, who qualifies, and how to keep the reward once it lands.

Why Most People Get the MariBank Business Referral Code Wrong
Most people assume a business referral is about the business. MariBank also looks at the people.
Here are the three mistakes I see most often:
- Applying when an owner already banks with MariBank. If any owner, partner, director or 25% shareholder held a MariBank retail product before 1 October 2026, the business is not eligible for the S$28 — even though the business itself is new.
- Skipping the code field. The code goes into the Referral / Promo Code? field during the application. A blank, wrong or incomplete code means no reward, and it cannot be added afterwards.
- Using two codes. The referral code cannot be combined with any other MariBank referral or promo code. Pick one.
There is also a holding rule. MariBank’s promotion terms require the business account to stay open and in good standing until at least 30 June 2027. Close it before then and the S$28 can be clawed back.
The principle the whole process is built on: check the owners first, enter the code during the application, and keep the account open until mid-2027.
What You Need Before You Start
Set aside about 15 minutes. Have these ready:
- The referral code: 8ZUU96EA. Copy it from the MariBank Business referral code page so you can paste it when the app asks.
- An eligible business type. MariBank accepts sole proprietorships, private limited companies with no corporate shareholders, partnerships with no corporate partners, and LLPs with no corporate partners.
- Eligible people behind it. Every owner, director, partner and 25%+ shareholder must be a Singapore Citizen, PR or a foreigner with Singpass access.
- Singpass. The person applying needs a valid Singpass account to start the application.
- A Singapore mobile number. You register for MariBank with it before applying.
- A clean MariBank history. The business must be applying for a Mari Business Account for the first time, and no owner or 25% shareholder can have held a MariBank retail product before 1 October 2026.
MariBank Singapore Private Limited is a digital bank licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and backed by Sea, the parent company of Shopee. Singapore dollar deposits are insured by SDIC up to S$100,000 per depositor.
The Full Process: Step by Step
Step 1 — Check the Ownership Rule (2 minutes)
Before you download anything, list everyone who owns, directs or holds 25% or more of the business. Ask each of them one question: did you have a Mari Savings Account, Mari Credit Card, Mari Invest or any other MariBank personal product before 1 October 2026?
If the answer is yes for anyone, the business will not get the S$28. You can still open the account for its features, but do not count on the reward.
What you end up with: certainty about whether the reward applies, before you spend time on the application.
Step 2 — Copy the Referral Code (1 minute)
Copy 8ZUU96EA now. It is easy to mistype an eight-character code with both letters and numbers — a “0” for an “O” or a “6” for a “G” — and a wrong character means no reward.
What you end up with: the code ready to paste.
Step 3 — Download the MariBank App and Register (3 minutes)
Download the MariBank app from the App Store, Google Play or Huawei AppGallery. Register with a valid Singapore mobile number.
→ Get the MariBank app from the official site
What you end up with: a MariBank login, ready to start a business application.
Step 4 — Start a Mari Business Account Application With Singpass (5 to 10 minutes)
Choose business banking in the app and start an application for your registered business. MariBank pulls your details through Singpass, so most of the form fills itself.
Check the business name, UEN and the list of owners and directors carefully. If MariBank needs anything else, it will ask during the application.
What you end up with: a business application in progress, with your business details pre-filled.
Step 5 — Enter 8ZUU96EA in the “Referral / Promo Code?” Field (1 minute)
During the application, you will see a field labelled Referral / Promo Code?. Paste 8ZUU96EA and check it character by character: 8-Z-U-U-9-6-E-A.
Do not enter any other promo code. The referral code cannot be combined with another MariBank code.
What you end up with: an application tagged to the referral — the only way the S$28 can be awarded.
Step 6 — Submit and Wait for Approval (instant to 2 days)
Submit the application. MariBank says applications are processed instantly or otherwise within one to two days. You will hear the outcome by push notification, SMS or email.
The application must be submitted and approved between 1 October and 31 December 2026 to qualify for the current promotion.
What you end up with: an approved Mari Business Account.
Step 7 — Check the S$28 Credit (no action)
MariBank’s Help Centre says the S$28 is credited instantly to your Mari Business Account after a successful application. The promotion terms allow crediting up to one month after the promotion ends, so if it does not appear straight away, it should arrive by 31 January 2027.
What you end up with: S$28 cash in your business account.
Step 8 — Keep the Account Open Until 30 June 2027 (no action)
Keep the account open and in good standing until at least 30 June 2027. Closing it earlier lets MariBank forfeit or claw back the reward.
What you end up with: a reward that is yours to keep.

What You Get With a Mari Business Account
The S$28 is a bonus. The account itself is what you will use every day, so here is what MariBank lists as of October 2026:
| Feature | Mari Business Account |
|---|---|
| Account fee | S$0 |
| Fall-below fee | S$0 |
| Interest on SGD balance | 0.88% p.a. (from 1 June 2026; can change) |
| Local transfers and PayNow | Free |
| Overseas transfer fees | Waived under a promotion ending 31 Dec 2026 |
| Shopee sellers | One free Seller Balance withdrawal per day, up from one per week |
| Deposit insurance | SDIC up to S$100,000 per depositor |
For a sole proprietor or a small company that sells on Shopee, the daily Seller Balance withdrawal is the feature that matters most. For everyone else, it is a no-fee business account that pays some interest — which is more than most traditional business accounts offer.
What the Referral Code Cannot Do
It cannot be added after you apply. The code only counts if it is in the Referral / Promo Code? field during the application.
It cannot fix an ownership problem. If an owner or 25% shareholder held a MariBank retail product before 1 October 2026, the code does not change that.
It does not stack with other codes. One referral or promo code per application, and one reward per business.
It is not guaranteed. The S$28 is limited to the first 1,000 successful referrals in the promotion period, and MariBank may suspend, shorten or change the promotion.
It does not cover personal products. The same code works for Mari Savings, Mari Credit Card, Mari Invest and Instant Loan under a separate personal promotion. That has different rewards and its own rules — see the MariBank personal guide linked below.
Is MariBank Safe? What the Code Does Not Change
Using a referral code has no effect on how your business money is protected. MariBank Singapore Private Limited is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by SDIC up to S$100,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.
None of this is financial advice. Choose a business account for how you get paid and pay suppliers, not for the sign-up bonus.
Tips to Make Sure You Get the S$28
Check every owner before you start. The retail-product rule is the most common reason a business that looks eligible misses out. Five minutes of asking saves a wasted application.
Do not open a personal account first “to test the app”. The rule looks at products held before 1 October 2026, but there is no reason to add risk. Open the business account first.
Paste the code, do not type it. Eight characters with mixed letters and numbers is where typos happen.
Screenshot the code field before you submit. If the S$28 does not arrive, that screenshot is your evidence for MariBank’s 24/7 in-app live chat.
Apply before late December. The application must be both submitted and approved by 31 December 2026. Leave a few days for approval.
Put a reminder for 1 July 2027. That is the first day you can close the account without risking the reward — useful if you only planned to test it.
What If Your Business Already Banks With MariBank?
It depends on what you already have.
- The business already has a Mari Business Account. It is not eligible. The reward is for first-time Mari Business Account applicants only.
- An owner has a personal MariBank account opened on or after 1 October 2026. Based on the promotion terms as summarised on the DLCuration landing page, only retail products held before 1 October 2026 disqualify the business. Confirm with MariBank’s live chat if you are unsure.
- An owner had a personal MariBank product before 1 October 2026. The business does not qualify for the S$28. The account itself is still available to open.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use the MariBank Business Account referral code 8ZUU96EA?
Download the MariBank app, register with your Singapore mobile number and start a Mari Business Account application with Singpass. Enter 8ZUU96EA in the Referral / Promo Code? field during the application and submit it. If the application is submitted and approved between 1 October and 31 December 2026 and the business is eligible, S$28 is credited to the account.
How much do I get with a MariBank business referral code?
S$28 cash, credited to your new Mari Business Account. MariBank’s Help Centre says it is credited instantly after a successful application, and the promotion terms allow crediting up to 31 January 2027.
Which businesses can open a Mari Business Account?
Sole proprietorships, private limited companies with no corporate shareholders, partnerships with no corporate partners and LLPs with no corporate partners. Every owner, director, partner and 25%+ shareholder must be a Singapore Citizen, PR or a foreigner with Singpass access, and the applicant needs a valid Singpass account.
Can I add the referral code after my business account is approved?
No. The code must be entered in the Referral / Promo Code? field during the application. A blank, wrong or incomplete code means no reward, and MariBank does not add codes afterwards.
Why did my business not get the S$28?
The most common reasons are an owner or 25% shareholder who held a MariBank retail product before 1 October 2026, a missing or mistyped code, another promo code used instead, or the promotion’s cap of 1,000 successful referrals being reached. Contact MariBank’s 24/7 in-app live chat with a screenshot of your application if you believe you qualified.
How long must I keep the Mari Business Account open?
Until at least 30 June 2027. MariBank’s promotion terms allow it to forfeit or claw back the reward if the account is closed or falls out of good standing before then.
Is there a minimum deposit or fee?
No. The Mari Business Account has no account fee and no fall-below fee, and the S$28 referral reward does not require a deposit.
Final Thoughts
The MariBank Business referral is about as simple as a sign-up bonus gets: no deposit, no spend, S$28 on approval. The only real work is the check at the start — making sure nobody behind the business already banked with MariBank before October.
If your business qualifies, the sequence is short: code in the Referral / Promo Code? field, approval by 31 December 2026, account kept open until 30 June 2027.
Start with the owner check. Everything else follows from getting that one step right.
